Brian Hoefler passed away this past Sunday September  24th 2017.  Brian was 47 years old.  He was a good friend to the chapter and to me.   I feel ike I have lost a little broither. Taken to soon. Brian you will be missed.   If you knew Brian keep him and his family in your thoughts.

1st Hoot and Howl Show - October 22, 2016

Posted by John Wysocarski BCCA #28758 on October 22, 2016 at 3:10 PM Comments comments (0)

The initial 1st "Hoot & Howl Show" is now history and in the record books. Another fun filled event sponsored by the local BCCA 12 Horse Chapter. Nearly all the tables were sold, filled with many fine beer advertising items. The walk in's were great in number as always.  Buying and selling among club members was outstanding in a friendly atmosphere. What started out as gloomy rainy day was suddenly filled with bright lights in a clean hall. Fun was meeting old friends again after a long hot summer. The morning started out with fresh cider from Kelly's Farm with three varieties old fashioned fried cakes. Coffee was offered as well as wake up, if needed. At noon time freshly prepared catered food was offered at a reasonable prices.

Yes, even an advanced dedicated collector like me was able to find an item "one I simply could not live without".  Mine was a Genesee Christmas poster sign never seen before by me from the 1940s time frame for only $10. After collecting Rochester, NY beer advertising for more than 46 years, adding anything is a rewarding experience no matter how little the price.

Message to all that did not attend today or those who have been thinking about attending, you are always welcome to attend our regular "Spring Show" planned for early next year. You will not be disappointed. No refunds on admission if not fully satisfied since the admission is free. How can you go wrong? If you have an old beer advertising item that you are thinking about selling, bring it to the next show. You might be surprised to find out how much it is worth.

A big thank you to JR and all the supporting members for another great show. Truly another great show and will probably become an annual event.

As always, take care.

John Wysocarski

12 Horse Beer 2016 Spring Show

Posted by John Wysocarski BCCA #28758 on April 24, 2016 at 4:35 PM Comments comments (0)

The annual 12 Horse Beer trade show was held yesterday, April 23rd and was again a great show. If you attended I am sure you will agree. If you missed attending, it was the best show yet.

The tables were loaded with many new treasures. Many walk in collectors attended, some bringing in items for sale. The sales were brisk and all attending appeared to have a barrel of fun. Another fantastic show lead by Brian Coughlin and the many supporting members. If you did not attend this year, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year. You will not be disappointed.

As they say, collecting beer advertising items is fun hobby but sharing information of your latest new find is always the proudest moment. Hope to see all of you again next year including many new collectors.

Believe me, after collecting beer advertising for over 45 years, you will always find a new item that you need, I did. The best part is meeting new collectors not active in the community commonly called "closet collectors" who provide new leads for beer items seeking a new home. Proof of senior advanced collectors finding new treasures was again a reality. Two other collectors who have been collecting more years than me found new finds to take home.

Share the word and who knows, maybe next years show will be even better than this year which is hard to believe given the outstanding success of the show just held.

In closing, the best part was seeing old friends again sharing memories of the good old days.

John Wysocarski
